Kaia Naturals Cleansing Cloth Review

I purchased a pack of the Kaia Naturals Facial Cleansing Cloths at the Beauty Board that I attended on April 15. I had never heard of this brand before the Beauty Board and was intrigued by the fact that they were made from bamboo are paraben free, alcohol free, sulphate free, synthetic fragrance free and 100% biodegradable.

Biore Girls Night In

I received an invite from my friend Jill of Batting A Lash to attend a fabulous afternoon of pampering, treats and all things girly.  So on Sunday April 22, I headed over to Jill's for the Biore Girls Night In festivities.

Included in the afternoons activities was a facial and mini manis and pedis that were provided by the lovely ladies at the Wright Spa. We also munched on all kinds of wonderful snacks that Jill prepared as well as some super fabulous cupcakes from Bobbette and Belle.

Sorry in advance for the not so great pictures, I forgot my camera and took these pictures with my cell phone.

The BlushPretty Beauty Board

Last Sunday I attended my first BlushPretty Beauty Board. I have always wanted to attend and was so happy that I was able to get tickets this time around. When I arrived, all the vendors we already set up and ready to sell. There were so many great Canadian brands there and I purchased quite a few things from some of the vendors that were there. The whole premise of the Beauty Board is that the attendees get to play beauty editor for the afternoon. We are given review cards and we walk around trying out the products and writing reviews for them. Before you leave you submit the review cards and in return, you get an awesome swag bag.

My New Skincare Regimen

For the last week or so, I’ve been testing out the new Mary Kay Timewise Night Restore & Recovery Complex for combination to oily skin; note: this also come in a normal to dry skin formula.

This night-time treatment is designed to “replenish the skin’s dermal matrix and restore the skin barrier by giving skin what it needs to help it recover and restore itself from the stresses of everyday life”.
Now ,I’m no stranger to skin-boosting treatments like this as I’ve been using the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex for over a year now but there’s something about the Night Restore and Recovery Complex that has made me abandon and disregard what I had previously been using.

Mini Review: Avon Super Shock Mascara

I bought this mascara about a month ago or so after seeing it being use in a tutorial on YouTube. I had really high hopes for this mascara and I was totally disappointed with the results that it gave me.

What I found instead was that there is nothing super nor shocking about what this mascara does for my lashes. According to the website, this mascara is supposed to provide up to 12X more volume due to the "unique" microfibres that expand and plump the lashes. To be quite honest, the brush is probably what killed this for me; it's just too awkward to use and I end up poking myself in the eye. It also doesn't reach my inner-most lashes.  The formula isn't the greatest either as I found it to be a tad on he dry side. This mascara didn't deliver an volume which is what I look for in a mascara.

On the plus side it does leave my lashes soft to the touch but that's not enough of a reason for me to repurchase this mascara again.
